RACHEL + MICAH | CHAPEL IN THE WOODS SOUTHEAST AND GHEENS FOUNDATION LODGE | LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

I am always thrilled when couples want to book me for both their engagement and wedding sessions! Rachel reached out to me after seeing a couple of my Facebook and Instagram posts and I am so glad she did. I got to know more and more about Rachel and Micah as we worked together and enjoyed learning about their love story.

Rachel and Micah grew up side by side and attended the same Highview Baptist Church. The kicker however is that they were complete strangers. Of course, living in a relatively tight community, they knew of each other but they lived their lives simultaneously as just another face in the crowd. They actually never even had their first conversation until late 2014. Their college ministry fellowship class changed that however when a mutual friend became their common thread and tied their lives together. That Sunday started it all and they began dating shortly after. The rest, Rachel says, "is history."

The last several years of dating has helped these two get to know each other and it was fitting that their engagement was coordinated by another important friend in their lives. Micah's best friend, David, was the coordinator this time. He recruited Rachel to help with a surprise birthday party for Micah. After a little bit of convincing, seeing how Micah's birthday was almost a month prior, she agreed to help gather the troops and provide a cover for the whole event. It wasn't until Micah came back from the restroom holding a cake from her favorite place, Plehns, that she knew something was up. The cake said "Rachel, will you marry me?" Of course she said yes!

Working with these two twice was awesome. I got to know more about them every step of the way and loved documenting this special time in their lives!
