STEPHENSON WEDDING | GUTHRIE MEADOWS | BEDFORD, INDIANA PHOTOGRAPHER

Brides and grooms have a lot of different goals when it comes to their wedding day. One goal could be to make it the most spectacular event of their lives and another goal could be just to get through the day and start the next chapter of their lives with the person they love. Both goals, and all those in between, are valid and perfectly acceptable. My job however is to figure out which goal fits with which couple I am photographing.

The motive behind wedding day events (or like I said, the goal) can completely change how I take pictures and what I need to document. There are some brides and grooms that spend so much time and resources on the details of their wedding day that it is essential those things are photographed. However, there are also couples that while they spend time on the details, they want more photos showing connections between each other and between their guests.

This wedding session was with Kayla and Eric. Their expectation for me as a photographer was a combination of the goals above. They expected me to "capture the beauty of their newest adventure together, their happiness and their love." This means I get to document it all. Each detail, each connection between husband and wife as well as tender moments with their guests. These two had tons of vintage and rustic details and their steel blue and mauve color scheme rocked their barn wedding venue. I like getting to know my clients and knowing what they expect from me as their photographer is one the the most important parts of my wedding day preparation.
