JESSICA + JACOB | BERNHEIM STATE FOREST | LOUISVILLE, KY PHOTOGRAPHER

After years of dating, Jessica and Jacob contacted me about photographing their engagement session. Bernheim State Forest is special for these two because Jacob has a member of his family with a memorial there. Jessica told me about this special tribute during our first encounter and it made me appreciate how much she knew about Jacob and how special they wanted this photo session to be. These two have been dating for over seven years and after a very special surprise proposal in Breckenridge, Colorado (which Jessica says was executed perfectly), they are ready to tie the knot.

I have photographed a lot of clients who are comfortable around each other but these two were completely in sync. They were so much fun to photograph as we moved throughout the forest. Most photos were able to capture at least one of them with an infectious smile that makes you want to join the fun. Jessica said they would need help with poses but the natural interaction between each other made for even better photographs. They decided to dress in casual attire and it matched their personalities in a wonderful way, bringing out the ease in their relationship. I could tell that their relationship had been cultivated and was truly inspired just by watching them together. Perhaps the only thing missing from this photo shoot was their two loving dogs but other than that, these two seem complete with each other. I can't wait to see what else the future has in store as they prepare to become husband and wife!
