HOLCOMB WEDDING | HUBER'S ORCHARD AND WINERY | LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Matthew and Christina married on June 20th in 2020. Like so many 2020 couples, their original April date got pushed back twice due to Covid before they finally decided to just tie the knot privately and have a reception when things opened up again. On August 14th 2021 their original wedding vision came to life as the newlyweds renewed their vows and celebrated their marriage with their family and friends.
Christina had originally intended to capitalize on her April wedding date with a spring theme. Plans rearranged and dates changed, but the dusty blue and eucalyptus details still brought a touch of spring beauty to this late summer celebration.
On the afternoon of their renewal Christina slipped into her gorgeous David’s Bridal gown while Matthew fastened cufflinks just a few rooms away. Not usually one to dress up, Christina was especially excited to share a first look with Matthew and see what he thought of her wedding day look. She wasn’t disappointed! The couple was all smiles as they shared a private moment before finally having the wedding they’d been dreaming of.
The white stone and natural greenery of the winery was the perfect backdrop to their vow renewal, lending a light and airy feel to the day. Afterward, the couple danced, ate, toasted, cut cake, and enjoyed all the traditional wedding day moments. After waiting so long to get to do it all there was a special excitement and joy surrounding each of the little celebratory milestones.
If Matthew and Christina can handle future curveballs in life with as much joy and grace as they did the ever changing nature of a 2020 wedding, they’ll be set up for success! As Christina says, “the only thing that will matter at the end of the day is that you are getting to marry your best friend,” and despite all the challenges, she did.
