Adventure comes in many different forms. For these two, love is one of the biggest adventures so far. I had so much fun working with Kayla and Eric. Their love story began in a gas station in Kayla's home town and blossomed from there. Now, six and a half year later, they are ready to tie the knot and I am thrilled I had the opportunity to take their engagement photos!
Engagement sessions can sometimes put a lot of pressure on my clients. There is a level of expectation that they want everything to go perfectly and while usually the session goes great, there are things I recommend to couples who feel the heat when the camera is turned on. To those clients I would first tell them to "breathe." As weird as it may sound, sometimes when people are in front of the camera they forget! After taking deep breaths I usually recommend not looking at me. I tell them to make eye contact with their other half and try to ignore me. Some of the best photographs come when from natural moments between people who love each other and the only way to capture them is to try to forget I am even there.
Kayla and Eric did great during this photo session. While nerves may have come into play toward the beginning, we were able to get some beautiful photos of these two together that show their love for each other! I can't wait to see all they have planned for their big day! Engagement sessions like these give me so much hope for the future and I can't help but think about how exciting this step in there lives really is! Congratulations you two!
