Breea and Zane’s wedding day felt timeless from start to finish. Elegant, formal, and thoughtfully planned, their October celebration reflected exactly what they value. Family, tradition, and a well paced day that allowed them to truly enjoy it. With much of the day centered around the Pendennis Club, it was a classic Louisville wedding from beginning to end.
Both Breea and Zane got ready at the Pendennis Club, which made the morning flow smoothly. Breea spent the early part of the day upstairs with her family, while Zane got ready in the Rathskeller downstairs. Starting the day in the same place helped keep everything organized, especially with a larger guest count and a compressed timeline.
Before heading to the ceremony, Breea shared a first look with her dad. It was a quiet, emotional moment that set the tone for the rest of the day. Shortly after, Breea and Zane chose to do a first touch rather than a first look. Standing just around the corner from each other, holding hands without seeing one another, the moment felt sweet and intentional.
Their ceremony took place at St. James Catholic Church, where they hosted a traditional Catholic mass. With a large guest list and Zane’s extended family in attendance, the church felt full and celebratory.
The ceremony itself was formal and reverent, exactly what you would expect from a classic Catholic wedding. Breea and Zane both seemed excited and present, taking in the moment rather than rushing through it.
After the ceremony, we stepped outside St. James for family and couple portraits. While both venues are beautiful inside, the exterior of the church offers more flexibility for photos than the Pendennis Club. The architecture and open space allowed us to work efficiently, which mattered with a tight timeline.
Their couple portraits felt relaxed and natural. Breea appeared calm and joyful, while Zane’s excitement was easy to see. Individual portraits were taken back at the Pendennis Club, using the interior spaces and classic details throughout the building.
The reception unfolded across three floors of the Pendennis Club, which gave the evening a really nice flow. Cocktail hour took place on the first floor, dinner followed on the second, and guests finished the night on the third floor for dancing. This layout kept things moving without ever feeling chaotic.
Even with a formal black tie atmosphere, the energy shifted once the dance floor opened. It quickly turned into a party, and the floor stayed full. Breea and Zane’s first dance was a highlight of the night and one of my favorite moments from the reception.
With so many moving pieces, staying on schedule was especially important. I worked closely with the coordinator throughout the day to keep everything running on time, which was something Zane cared deeply about. Having a clear, well managed timeline allowed Breea and Zane to relax and enjoy the day without worrying about what came next.
Looking back, Breea and Zane’s Pendennis Club wedding felt elegant, classic, and thoughtfully planned. From the traditional ceremony to the formal reception and packed dance floor, everything came together in a way that felt natural and true to who they are.
If you are planning a wedding in Louisville and are drawn to classic venues and a well paced, organized wedding day, I would love to talk. Reach out anytime to learn more about working together and documenting your celebration!
