High school sweethearts are rare, and Brittany and Cory are the real deal.
They first met in seventh grade. Even though they attended different schools, they stayed connected and officially started dating their junior year of high school. What began as a teenage relationship grew into something steady, intentional, and lasting. After more than seven years together, Cory proposed on Christmas Eve 2018. Years of memories led up to that moment, and of course, Brittany said yes.
We met for their engagement session at Bernheim Forest, and from the start, they were completely at ease. Some couples need a little time to warm up in front of the camera, but Brittany and Cory slipped right into it. Their comfort with each other made everything feel effortless. I hardly had to guide them because their natural chemistry did the work for me.
Bernheim Forest was the perfect location for them. The variety of scenery gave us so much to work with. Open fields of wildflowers created space for playful, lighthearted moments, while the riverside and wooded areas added depth and intimacy to their photos. The contrast between the bright fields and the darker natural backdrops made each setting feel unique.
One of my favorite parts of the session was when we made our way into the wildflower fields. Brittany and Cory brought multiple outfit changes, and each one complemented the location beautifully. Whether they were laughing, dancing, or simply walking hand in hand, every moment felt genuine. I focused on capturing natural movement and soft light, and they made it easy.
I’m not sure if it’s the many years they’ve grown together or just who they are as individuals, but they were completely comfortable being themselves. That authenticity is what makes engagement sessions truly special.
I’m so glad I had the opportunity to document this season of their relationship. These photos capture a chapter that’s been years in the making, and it was an honor to preserve it for them.
