Some love stories come full circle—and Yasmine and Demarcus’ is one of those rare and beautiful ones.

These two first crossed paths over a decade ago in high school. Over the years, their bond with each other (and their families!) only grew stronger. After reconnecting and officially beginning their relationship just six months ago, they’ve already built a foundation that feels like it’s been in the making for years. As they told me with a laugh, “It was a quick turnaround, we know—but when you know, you know!”

For their first date, they kept things fun and lighthearted with a round of mini golf at The Puttery in uptown Charlotte, followed by a late-night bite at a cozy local bar. That casual, fun energy still defines their relationship today.

Their proposal? An intimate, sweet moment that perfectly reflects their cozy, homebody vibe. After enjoying a snow day with their pups and while cooking burgers and fries together (their favorite comfort meal), Demarcus surprised Yasmine with a heartfelt proposal right in the kitchen. Just the two of them, no elaborate setup—just love, simplicity, and authenticity.

When they’re not planning wedding details, Yasmine and Demarcus love nothing more than quiet nights in. Throughout their long-distance dating days, they even scheduled FaceTime movie nights—pressing play on Netflix at the exact same time to stay connected across the miles. Now, their favorite evenings involve wine, cozying up with their favorite card games (We’re Not Really Strangers and Let’s Get Deep are favorites), and soaking in every moment together.

For their engagement session, they chose the Louisville Main Library—a location that perfectly reflects their classic and elegant style. The stately architecture and timeless backdrop made the perfect setting to capture the warmth, connection, and undeniable bond these two share.
