welcome to my journal
Erin and Jon’s wedding day was the kind of celebration that felt centered on family from the very beginning. After meeting at Hauck’s Corner in Germantown and starting their relationship in the spring of 2023, the two quickly built a life around the simple things they enjoy most together. Time outdoors, hiking, visiting breweries, and spending time with the people closest to them.
Their wedding day reflected that same spirit. It was traditional, relaxed, and filled with moments shared with the people who matter most.
Erin spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids, her mom, and Jon’s sister at Jon’s sister’s home in Floyds Knobs. The atmosphere was lighthearted and fun, exactly what you want during the slower moments before the day really begins.
One of the funniest details of the morning was a life-size fathead of Jon placed in the flowers while everyone was getting ready. It brought plenty of laughs and set the tone for a joyful start to the day.
Erin’s dress was timeless and classic. The style suited her perfectly and felt like a natural fit for the traditional ceremony they had planned.
Erin and Jon were married at St. Mary of the Knobs Chapel, a historic chapel sitting on the hill in Floyds Knobs.
Their ceremony was traditional and very family focused. Surrounded by parents, siblings, and extended family, the two exchanged vows in a setting that felt meaningful and rooted in the community they are part of.
With over 200 guests in attendance, it was clear how many people were excited to celebrate with them.
After the ceremony and family photos at the church, everyone made their way to the reception at Huber’s Plantation Hall at Huber’s Orchard & Winery.
Once we arrived at Huber’s, we spent time exploring the property for Erin and Jon’s portraits.
Jon’s parents are friends with the owners of Huber’s, which meant we were given a special tour of one of the still houses on the property. We were able to take photos inside and in a few unique areas that aren’t typically available for portraits. It was such a fun opportunity and added a different look to their gallery.
Huber’s Orchard & Winery is a beautiful location for wedding photos. Between the rolling farmland, the historic buildings, and the open views across the property, there are so many places to create something unique.
As the evening approached, we were treated to an incredible sunset. The light across the farm was beautiful, and we spent time walking around the property finding the best spots to capture that golden hour glow. Those sunset portraits ended up being some of my favorite images from their entire wedding day.
The celebration continued at Plantation Hall at Huber’s Orchard & Winery, a venue that blends rustic charm with plenty of space for a lively reception.
Guests enjoyed dinner, conversation, and plenty of time together before the party really kicked off.
One of the highlights of the evening was the live band, which kept the dance floor full and the energy high throughout the night.
By the time the evening wrapped up, Erin and Jon had spent the entire day exactly how they wanted. Surrounded by family, celebrating with friends, and soaking in every moment together.
